Bhavana Akilan

Co-President

Bhavana Akilan (she/her) is currently an undergraduate University of Toronto Scarborough student in her third year, majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Global Leadership and Health Humanities. As a co-president this year, she hopes to improve visibility and engagement at UTSC and encourage more students to join Students for Shelters in their efforts to give back to society.

Zehra Hussain

Co-Vice President

Zehra Hussain (she/her) is currently a fifth year undergraduate student at UTSC and is studying in the Population Health Studies program. She is passionate about seeing equity in social factors!

Esther Bethou

Co-President

Esther Bethou (she/her) is currently in her 4th year as an undergraduate student at UTSC and is doing a Specialist in Political Science and a minor in Public Law. She believes in the Students for Shelters mission to take the time to help others in need and values creating a positive impact on others' lives.

Zahra Raza

Co-Vice President

Zahra Raza is currently an undergraduate University of Toronto Scarborough student in her third year, specializing in Human Biology. She is passionate about social justice and supporting the underprivileged communities to ensure equal rights and access to opportunities for all individuals.

Thisani Thevarajah

Finance Officer

Thisani Thevarajah is in her third year as an undergraduate student double majoring in 3rd Year doing a Double Major of Biology and Psychology. She is passionate about supporting and helping others, and she gets a positive feeling when helping others, which motivates her to do more for the community.

Amirah Mustafah

Public Affairs Secretary

Amirah Mustafa (she/her) is a second year undergraduate UTSC student, double majoring in population health co-op and human biology. As someone who has witnessed the transformative effects of offering assistance, she is passionate about aiding others in need of items that are under-donated, and raising awareness about overlooked social injustices that impact our communities.

Sanajana Sarvanan

Note-taking Secretary

Sanjana Sarvanan (she/her) is currently in her 3rd year as an undergraduate student at UTSC and is completing a specialist in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and a minor in Psychology. She believes that this world is one big family and everyone deserves to get help from others. Being in this club would give her a chance to help others in need.

Zaevia Ashmeade

Social Media Manager

Zaevia (she/her) is currently in her 4th year as an undergraduate student at UTSC and is doing her degree in Immunology and Neuroscience. She wishes to help make a positive impact on communities, hoping to have the chance to participate in donating necessities to those in need and to help support and uplift vulnerable individuals!

Radhika Bajaj

Webmaster

Radhika Bajaj (she/her) is currently in her 3rd year as an undergraduate student and is completing a Specialist in Psychology. She believes in being a compassionate and helpful person, and does her best in trying to help everyone, especially those in need of it and she wishes to spread her help to to such people through Students for Shelters.

Samira Munir

Marketing Director

Samira Munir is currently in her 3rd year as an undergraduate student at UTSC and is completing her degree in Management, specializing in Accounting. She wishes to try and bring awareness to organizations that need aid and help inform more students and more people about how they can make a difference in the world. She is passionate about being able to help as many people as she can.

Lara Silva

Social Media Manager

Lara Silva (she/her) is currently a second year undergraduate student at UTSC and is completing her Specialist in International Development Studies. She follows S4S’s values and is inspired by S4S to become dedicated in serving and uniting the community, an initiative that she is passionate about.
